Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced ICU Float RN with Level 1/2 trauma background and vasopressor titration expertise for a 13-week night shift assignment.

The role requires ND or compact RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and ICU experience in a large hospital. You will float across critical care units and engage with advanced monitoring and infusion devices in a travel position.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in ND or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience.
• Experience in a 250+ bed hospital with Level 1 trauma.
• Experience titrating vasopressor drips as listed on resume.
• Ability to manage sedatives, analgesics and other drips.
• Experience with bedside procedures (RSI, EVD, tracheostomy, line placement).
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Ability to independently care for critically ill patients.

Responsibilities

• Acute care ICU Resource Team role within a 32-bed unit.
• Manages 1-3 critically ill patients across multiple specialties.
• Floats to ICU departments including 5AB, Intermediate ICU, Broadway ICU.
• May float to med surg units as needed.
• Uses EPIC EMR and monitoring/infusion equipment.
• 12-hour night shifts with rotation and occasional 4-hour shifts.
• Works every other weekend and every other holiday.
• No on-call requirements.
• Must call in daily prior to shift to confirm unit assignment.
• Will not work alone; 32 hours orientation provided.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU Float RN with Level 1/2 trauma background and vasopressor titration expertise for a 13-week night shift assignment.

Requirements

• Active RN license (ND or compact state)
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years ICU RN experience required
• Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with Level 1 trauma required
• Experience titrating vasopressor drips required and must be reflected on resume or skills checklist
• Ability to manage sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips
• Experience assisting with bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, and line placement
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to independently care for critically ill patients

Responsibilities

• Acute care ICU Resource Team role within a 32-bed unit
• Manages 1-3 critically ill patients across neuro, cardiac, CT surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical populations
• Floats to all critical care departments including 5AB, Intermediate ICU (up to 4:1 ratio), and Broadway ICU (up to 3:1 ratio)
• May float to med surg units as needed to task or take patient assignment
• Uses EPIC EMR, Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinet, Aleris IV pumps, MOOG Feeding pumps, IABP, EVD, Phillips Patient Monitoring Systems, AvaSure, and Impella
• 12-hour night shifts with day/night rotation and occasional 4-hour shifts
• Works every other weekend and every other holiday
• No on-call requirements
• Must call in daily prior to shift to confirm unit assignment
• Will not work alone
• Receives 32 hours of orientation during the first week, including hospital, unit, Intermediate ICU, and Broadway ICU orientation
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Cannot accept candidates living within 60 miles of the facility
• Local travel rate applies for candidates living 60 to 80 miles from the facility
• Candidates with prior employment at this health system must disclose this information and have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
