American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced ICU Float RN for the Nursing Resource Team, providing float coverage across ICU, PCU, and ER units at a Level II trauma facility in Idaho.

The role requires current Idaho RN license or compact, active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and at least 2 years of ICU experience within the last 2 years at a Level I/II trauma center. Travel with housing allowances and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Idaho or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience in Level I/II trauma facility in last 2 years
• Experience floating to PCU with appropriate ratios
• Experience floating to ER with true patient assignments
• Experience with cardiac drips
• Experience with non-invasive ventilation
• ASN or BSN from accredited program (BSN preferred)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• DHW fingerprinting background required

Responsibilities

• Float among ER, ICU (Cardiac ICU and Trauma/Neuro ICU), and PCU units
• Acute care within a Level II trauma facility
• Work 12-hour night shifts
• ICU ratios 1:1–2 and PCU ratios 1:3–4
• Unit beds range 21–35
• May float mid-shift between units
• Use EPIC EMR system
• Direct patient care across ER, ICU, and PCU as needed
• Cover ED pod patients, boarded patients, and ER assignments when floated
• Receive unit assignment ~2 hours before shift
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius; locals not eligible

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU Float RN for a Nursing Resource Team role requiring float coverage across ICU, PCU, and ER units at a Level II trauma facility.

Requirements

• Active RN license (State of Idaho or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience within the last 2 years at a Level I or II Trauma facility required
• Prior experience working in or floating to PCU with comfort in those ratios required
• Prior experience working in or floating to ER with true patient assignment experience required
• Experience with cardiac drips required
• Experience with non-invasive ventilation required
• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN accepted, BSN preferred)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Department of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting required

Responsibilities

• Nursing Resource Team (float pool) position floating between ER, ICU (Cardiac ICU and Trauma/Neuro ICU), and PCU units
• Acute care setting within a Level II Trauma facility
• 12-hour night shifts
• ICU ratios of 1:1-2 and PCU ratios of 1:3-4
• Units range from 21-35 beds depending on assignment
• May float mid-shift as needed between units
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Provides direct patient care across ER, ICU, and PCU units based on hospital-wide staffing needs
• Will care for ED pod patients, boarded patients, and take true ER patient assignments when floated to the ER
• Receives unit assignment notification approximately 2 hours prior to shift start
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Facility does not accept local candidates for this role
