American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center in California. Candidates must hold a CA RN license and have strong neuro ICU background, with trauma and stroke care experience, and be willing to travel within the state.

The role features night shifts (3x12s), a Magnet-designated facility, Epic charting, and generous housing and per diem benefits for travel nurses.

Competenze

• Active California RN license in hand.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card (within last 30 days).
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Travel experience required (unless PRN).

Mansioni

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–7:00).
• ICU unit with 12 overflow beds.
• Level II Trauma Center and Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center.
• High acuity neuro population including STEMI care, CABG/Valve/IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and neurosurgical patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:2; floats between PCU and ICU overflow units.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring strong neuro experience and CA RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card (obtained within the last 30 days)
• Community Hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required (unless PRN)
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Strong neuro experience required, including CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• ICU unit with 12 overflow beds
• Level II Trauma Center and Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center
• High acuity neuro population with STEMI receiving, CABG/Valve/IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and surgical patients
• Patient population includes cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot wounds, stroke, STEMI, motor vehicle accidents, and ortho cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required between PCU and ICU overflow units
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 377 staffed beds
• Any scrub color permitted; L/D and OR scrubs provided
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates accepted
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application and minimized to avoid delays
• Candidates must disclose any license or background check issues at time of consideration
• Travelers may be required to float between facilities within the state as part of the assignment
