American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week assignment at a regional referral center in SE Alaska. Active AK RN license and 2+ years ICU experience required, with ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications and Epic EMR experience.

Preferred certifications include PALS and TNCC. 3x12 shifts with 1:3 patient ratio, no on-call, and housing/travel support provided for travelers living >60 miles away.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week assignment in a regional referral center, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active AK RN license.

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required (pending applications may be reviewed)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Preferred certifications: PALS, TNCC
• Preferred skills: CVA/Acute stroke management, phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Preferred community hospital experience
• Experience with IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC lines, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU of a critical access, nonprofit Level IV Trauma Center serving as a Regional Referral Center for SE Alaska
• Variable 3x12 shifts, which may include a mix of days, evenings, or nights based on unit need
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Equal weekend rotation required among staff
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to Med Surg and LTC units as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide critical care nursing services to patients arriving via fast boat and fixed-wing aircraft from surrounding Alaska islands
• Facility experiences increased ED and tourist-related patient volume from April through September due to cruise ship traffic
• Scrub color requirement: any color accepted
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers will be considered, though prior ICU experience is preferred
• Local candidates are not accepted; must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
• Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be disclosed and approved prior to contract signing, with limited days allowed depending on offer type
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
