Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring an active MN RN license and 2 years of ICU experience. The position features a 5-bed ICU, rotating 12-hour shifts, weekend work, and on-site pharmacy support with remote coverage after hours.

Qualifications

• Active MN RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (AHA) required.
• BSN not required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 5-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital.
• Patient ratio of 2 patients per RN.
• 12-hour day and night shifts with rotating schedules.
• Required to work every other weekend.
• Manage drips (Cardizem, Insulin, Propofol, Versed, Vasopressors).
• Use Hamilton C-1 ventilators and chart in Allscripts/Paragon EMR.
• Floating to Med Surg as needed; hospitalist in-house.
• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU with complex cases.

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (AHA) required
• BSN not required for this position

Responsibilities

• Work in a 5-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 2 patients per RN
• 12-hour day and night shifts, including rotating schedules (07-1530, 1500-2330, 2300-0730, or 07-1930/19-0730)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Common diagnoses include stroke (TPN administration), STEMI, and non-STEMI
• Manages drips including Cardizem, Insulin, Propofol, Versed, and Vasopressors
• Uses Hamilton C-1 ventilators
• Charting completed in Allscripts and Paragon-Hospital EMR systems
• Telemetry/monitor techs available on unit
• Floating to Med Surg required
• Hospitalist available in house; RT on call after 6pm with 10-minute response time
• Pharmacy on site until 10pm, remote coverage after
• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU setting with complex cardiac and neurological cases
• Unit orientation consists of 1-2 shifts
• No charge nurse on unit; nurse aides available as needed
• Required to work during 7 major observed holidays as scheduled
• Royal blue scrubs required for RN staff
