Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II trauma hospital in Colorado Springs. NIHSS certification and a CO or compact RN license are required.

Minimum 2 years ICU experience, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certified, and proven ability to titrate drips are essential. Night shifts, 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, and EPIC EMR support are provided with travel-friendly benefits.

Qualifications

• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS.
• Experience titrating drips required.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Acute care ICU setting with 36 beds, Level 2 trauma center.
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• RNs responsible for titrating drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized medications.
• 24/7 in-house hospitalist/intensivist and respiratory therapy coverage.
• EPIC EMR used; Night shift schedule with self- scheduling and block scheduling options.
• Weekend requirement of 6-9 shifts within a 6 week schedule; Holiday coverage required.
• May float to other acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele, with potential to float within Zone 1 if needed.
• On-call/standby requirements determined by nurse manager.
• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU environment managing critical diagnoses and titratable medications.
• Navy blue scrub color dress code.
• Unit and department specific orientation date and location assigned during orientation week.
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are remote.
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility.
• First-time travelers may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
• RNs responsible for titrating drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized medications
• 24/7 in-house hospitalist/intensivist and respiratory therapy coverage
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and ventilators
• Charge nurse may take a patient assignment
• EPIC EMR used
• Night shift schedule with self-scheduling and block scheduling options
• Weekend requirement of 6-9 shifts within a 6 week schedule
• Holiday coverage required
• May float to other acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and MS-Tele, with potential to float within Zone 1 if needed
