American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center in Bangor, ME. The candidate must hold an active ME or Compact RN license and have at least 2 years ICU experience, plus required certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS).

This 26-bed ICU handles Medical, Surgical, Trauma and Neuro cases with a 1:2 patient ratio, night shifts (7P-7A), no on-call, and opportunities to float to related units depending on pediatric experience. Cerner, Alaris and Pyxis are used daily.

Competenze

• Active RN license (ME or Compact) required.

Mansioni

• Care for ICU patients in a 26-bed unit within a Level II Trauma Center.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years ICU experience and current ME or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active RN license (ME or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• PALS certification preferred, especially for potential PICU floating
• Required skills: ventilator management, critical care drips, drain management, stroke care, hemodynamic lines (A-lines/CVP), cardiac rhythm recognition, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and strong assessment skills
• Neuro and trauma experience required, including EVD and ICP monitoring
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• PICU experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• 26-bed ICU including negative pressure rooms within a Level II Trauma Center (411 beds)
• Cares for Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, and Interventional patients
• Common conditions include ICP monitoring, EVD, spinal precautions, DKA, multi-system trauma, sepsis, ARDS, COVID, PNA, COPD, and stroke
• Patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity, may occasionally take a 3rd patient during discharge/transfer
• 12-hour night shift schedule (7P-7A), 48 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required: every other weekend (Night shift: Fri/Sat)
• No on-call requirements
• May float to Cardiac Care Unit, Cardiac Stepdown, Medical Stepdown, or PICU (if pediatric experience)
• Uses Cerner charting system, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication system
• Support on unit includes 24/7 Resource Nurse/House Supervisor, in-house Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist, and Intensivist consult availability
• Charge nurse coverage is unassigned and may take patients during critical staffing situations
• PT/OT support available Monday through Friday
• Trauma Surgery team manages their own patients independently
• Orientation includes general hospital orientation followed by one shift on the unit
• Holiday coverage expectations vary based on facility need and must be approved by management
• All time off requests must be approved by the unit manager
• Scrubs must be a solid, professional color
• Free parking available in designated areas

• Candidates must not have prior permanent employment history with any Northern Light Health hospital
• Permanent residence must be located 100+ miles South/Southwest of the facility for consideration
