Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a mixed acuity unit in North Carolina. The ideal candidate holds an active NC or compact RN license and has current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications, with ICU experience preferred.

You will work on a 36-bed unit serving mixed acuity M/S/T and low-level ICU patients. Responsibilities include managing vents in collaboration with respiratory therapy, assessing unstable patients, performing diagnostics, and supporting a 1:2

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required.
• Must pass Dysrhythmia Exam within 24 hours of offer.
• ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 36-bed unit caring for mixed acuity M/S/T and low-level ICU patients.
• Unit staffed with RNs, LPNs, CNAs, unit secretary, and advanced practice providers.
• Care for unstable patients requiring continuous intensive observation, mechanical ventilation or advanced pharmacological therapy.
• Vents managed collaboratively by nursing and respiratory therapy.
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:2 (+/-1).
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, infusions/drips, lab draws, IV insertion, cardiac gtts, and cardiac monitoring.
• Assist with weaning patients from O2.
• Float to CaroMont main campus required.
• Provide continuous, intensive care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity environment.
• No time off permitted on holidays, including the day before and after.
