American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an ICU RN for a float pool, covering all ICU units at a medical center in North Carolina. Requires NC or compact RN license and at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Nursing Diploma/ADN/ASN required; BSN/MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float pool covers ICU units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular and Burn Center.
• Patient ratios typically 1:1 to 1:3 depending on unit acuity.
• May float to stepdown units with 1:3 ratios as needed.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am.
• Work schedule includes every other weekend.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Provide competent nursing care across multiple ICU specialties.
• Perform bedside point of care testing and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in discharge planning, patient education and performance improvement.
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis.
