Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric ER RN with 2+ years of ER/Peds experience and an active OH or compact RN license. A BSN is required for magnet designation, with travel nursing background preferred.

The role involves 12-hour shifts in a Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Akron, with a 1:3-4 patient ratio and weekend requirements. Ventilation care and EPIC charting experience are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Active OH or Compact RN license required at time of consideration.
• BSN required due to Magnet facility status.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ER experience required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (CEN and NRP preferred).
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Experience with ventilated patients preferred.
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced ER setting.
• Pediatric Emergency Department within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
• Shift coverage includes 12-hour blocks (11a-11p, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, 7p-7a).
• Nurse-patient ratio of 1:3-4; every other weekend required.
• Floating to other competent units as needed.
