Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-volume Level III trauma center in Washington. The role requires 2+ years of ED experience, a WA license, and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS/TNCC with PALS or ENPC certifications. EPIC EMR is used for patient care, with 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a large-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS or ENPC required.
• Must pass hospital's Triage Test before performing triage duties.
• Experience with barcode scanning medications, drip management, and blood product administration.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department within a 226-bed Level III trauma, non-profit community hospital.
• Department sees 200-250 ED patients per day and is the busiest ED in the state.
• Treats stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and substance use disorder patients.
• Handle transfer-out cases including neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high-acuity pediatric patients.
• ED is organized into zones, including a 13-bed fast track ("green zone").
• Patient ratios range 1:3-5 based on acuity.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• 12-hour mids/eves shifts with start times of 1300, 1400, or 1500.
• Weekend rotation every other weekend, with occasional back-to-back weekends.
• No floating or on-call requirements.
• Provide emergency care across the full patient age spectrum in a high-acuity, high-volume setting.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-volume Level III trauma center requiring 2+ years of large-volume, high-acuity ED experience.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a large-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and PALS or ENPC
• Must pass hospital's Triage Test before performing triage duties
• Experience with barcode scanning medication administration, medication drip management, and blood product administration required
• Skilled in setting up chest tubes and arterial lines, and assisting with trauma and code cases
• Experience with splinting and BiPAP/ventilator management required
• Strong understanding of ESI (Emergency Severity Index) required
• Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
• Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus

• Patient ratios range 1:3-5 based on acuity
• Uses Epic EMR

• Weekend rotation every other weekend, with occasional back-to-back weekends
• No floating or on-call requirements
