Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a freestanding emergency department in South Carolina. Requires 2+ years of ER experience and active SC or Compact RN license, plus BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

The role features a night shift (3x12s, 18:45–07:15) in a 1:4 patient ratio with Epic EMR. You will handle trauma, cardiac, neuro, and psychiatric cases in a high-acuity setting and participate in isolation precautions and IV management.

Qualifications

• Active SC or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must obtain prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• PALS, TNCC, and CPI certifications preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience managing acute psychosis, overdose, violent behavior, and psychiatric holds
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs and phlebotomy

Responsibilities

• Freestanding Emergency Department setting treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Treats a wide range of cases including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, psychiatric, orthopedic, and neurological conditions
• Manages shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Administers emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Manages ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and interprets ABGs
• Performs central line and chest tube care/management
• Provide emergency care across pediatric and adult patient populations in a high-acuity setting
• Manage and apply splints and assist with ortho trauma cases
• Staff RNs are not eligible to return to this facility as travelers
• All requested RTO must be submitted with the initial application; requests made afterward will not be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
