Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Iowa. You’ll work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) with every third weekend, 36–48 hours weekly, and no on-call duty.

Active IA or Compact RN license and BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC are required, plus 1 year ER experience and a valid driver’s license. Travel assignments include housing allowance, travel/licensure reimbursements, day-one insurance options, and a generous per diem.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IA or Compact) required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year ER experience required.
• Valid driver's license required for consideration.
• Skills checklist specific to ER required.
• Supervisory reference/performance evaluation completed within the last two years required.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department setting within a Level 3 Trauma Center.
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM (12-hour shifts).
• Every third weekend required, 36 or 48 hours per week.
• No on-call requirements.
• May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Provide comprehensive care and management to emergency department patients.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
• UnityPoint Health employees restricted from travel market within 12 months.
• Holiday coverage required; travelers work 2 of 3 major winter holidays.
• Limited time-off requests during peak holidays (late Nov/Dec).
