Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department travel assignment in Virginia. The 16-bed ED handles geriatric, adult, pediatric and OB patients, with a typical 5:1 patient load and no on-call requirement.

You will operate on a Meditech EHR and may float 1:1 with patients as needed. Requirements include active VA or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC, ADN, and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (VA or compact) required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience
• Minimum education requirement of ADN
• Able to provide age-appropriate patient care and accurate documentation

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department unit with 16 beds in an acute care hospital
• Care for geriatric, adult, pediatric, and OB patients
• Typical 5:1 patient ratio with pull-to-full-bed practices
• Use EKG, Ultrasound, LUCAS, EZ-IO, Omnicell, stretcher, wheelchair, Medtronic equipment
• MediTech EHR system used
• Shift schedule 7a-7p with every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Potential floating to sit 1:1 with patients
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of acute diagnoses and treatments
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on this assignment
• Dress code requires solid color scrub tops and pants; no hoodies or t-shirts
• Holiday coverage requirements apply every other weekend

Requirements

• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required
• Minimum education requirement of ADN
• Skilled in patient assessment, identifying patient needs, and initiating appropriate nursing interventions
• Able to provide age-appropriate patient care and perform timely, accurate documentation
