Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a LA or compact RN license and ER experience. The role covers adult and pediatric ED care with STEMI/Stroke certification and a 1:4 patient ratio.

Shifts are 3x12 hours (7:00–19:30) with rotating weekends; no on-call or floating. Epic EMR experience is required; travel experience and strong triage skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Active LA or Compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications with TNCC preferred.
• Minimum 1 year ER experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Prior travel experience required.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management.
• Experience with emergency meds and IV vasopressors.
• Triage and infection control precautions/PPE.
• Experience with ortho and ortho trauma cases.
• Two recent manager references required.
• Experience with intubation, chest tube care, and central line care preferred.
• Neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury and TBI preferred.
• Gunshot wound, shock/trauma cases preferred.
• Pediatric Emergency Department experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting.
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population.
• Non-trauma ED with STEMI and Stroke certification.
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Day shift schedule, 3×12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30.
• Rotating weekend requirement.
• No on-call requirement.
• No floating requirement.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric cases.
• Manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation.
• Perform triage and maintain infection control precautions.
• Locals within 75 miles accepted at local rate.
• Radius rule of 75 miles applies for travel rate eligibility.
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before travel eligibility.
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position.
