Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced ER travel nurse for a Level I/II trauma center with STEMI and Stroke certification. You will treat a combined adult/pediatric population with a 1:4 patient ratio, on a 3x12-hour evening shift (1:00 PM–1:00 AM).

Responsibilities include EPIC documentation, float to four facilities, and providing high-acuity emergency care. Travel and licensure reimbursements, housing, and benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • Active FL or compact RN license at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year ER experience
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Two supervisory references within past year
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial lines, admin of blood products
  • Ventilation support experience (BiPAP/CPAP) preferred
  • ABG interpretation experience preferred
  • Sedation and vasopressor management experience preferred
  • Neuro-trauma and trauma care experience preferred
  • Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience preferred
  • Isolation precautions/PPE and triage
  • Ortho trauma and large hospital experience preferred
  • First-time travelers not accepted

  • Provide high-acuity emergency nursing care
  • Scrubs may be solid color; no logos/prints
  • Flu vaccine required (with exemptions)
  • Former Health First staff: 1-year separation required
  • Local candidates same rate as travelers
  • Travel pairs allowed with unit leader approval
  • RTO not accepted after offer
  • First-time travelers not accepted

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 1+ years of ER experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Requirements
  • Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
  • CPI certification preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP and care of ventilated patients preferred
  • Experience interpreting ABGs preferred
  • Experience managing continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred
  • Experience with neuro-trauma conditions including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury preferred
  • Experience managing shock/trauma cases including GSW, traumatic amputation, and head injury preferred
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
  • Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
  • Ortho trauma experience preferred
  • Previous acute care large hospital experience preferred
  • Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required for consideration
Responsibilities

  • General ED treating a combined adult and pediatric population
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required, with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle
  • Required to work one major holiday of department's choice
  • On-call required as needed
  • Float required to all 4 facility locations (Holmes, Viera, Cape Canaveral, Palm Bay)
  • Documents in EPIC
  • Provide emergency nursing care across a high-acuity, high-volume trauma center environment
  • Scrubs may be any solid color (must match top and bottom) with no logos or prints, self-provided or facility-provided
  • Flu vaccine required between 10/31-3/31 with medical or religious exemptions only
  • Former Health First employees or contracted staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a travel RN
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers, with no radius restriction
  • Travel pairs permitted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
  • All RTO requests must be finalized and submitted for consideration; RTO will not be accepted after offer
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
