Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift in a Level I trauma center in Florida, with Epic proficiency.

Requirements include active FL or Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, 2 years ED in a 30-bed+ unit, nursing degree, and passing background checks; Epic EMR experience is required. Night shifts 19:00-07:30, every other weekend. Local candidates within 60 miles may receive a lower rate. Broward Health separation applies.

Qualifications

• Active FL or Compact RN license in hand.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification via AHA.
• TNCC and NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• 2 years of ED experience in a 30-bed+ unit, preferably Level I trauma center.
• Nursing degree from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution.
• 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience in a US hospital.
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia assessment.
• Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening including fingerprint checks.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department setting in a 30-bed+ unit at a Level I trauma center.
• Independently manage Level 1 trauma patients in the Trauma Bay.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 4:1 or 5:1 depending on area.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30) with every other weekend.
• Requires Epic EMR experience.
• Provide emergency care to Level 1 trauma cases.
• Smoke-free facility.
• Complete lab requirements within 72 hours of signing.
• Complete orientation modules prior to start (8 hours for RNs).
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius considered at a lower rate.
• Former Broward Health employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler.
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools not accepted.
