Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Emergency Department position that requires KY or compact RN licensure and ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications. Night shift, 3x12s from 7p-7a, 36 hours per week across 3 shifts (0.9 FTE).

The nurse will provide comprehensive assessments, care planning, and treatment within the RN scope, and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges with Case Management.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications required.
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required.
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department providing 24-hour emergency care for patients with severe injuries or acute illness.
• Night shift, 3x12s from 7p-7a.
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts.
• 0.9 FTE position.
• Provides comprehensive patient assessments, individualized care planning, and treatment implementation within RN scope of practice.
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management.
• Delegates and oversees patient care tasks performed by other team members.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs.
• Promotes a healing environment through patient and family-centered education and communication.
