American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring an active RN license (MD or Compact) and at least 3 years of ED experience.

This travel assignment features a 3x12 day shift (07:30–20:00), a busy adult/pediatric ED with about 140 census and 46 beds, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), housing allowance, licensure reimbursement and travel perks.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required.
• Minimum 3 years ED experience; 4–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma Center ED with general adult/pediatric population across all ages.
• Average daily census ~140 with 46 beds.
• Patient ratio 1:4, up to 1:5 for lower acuity.
• Care for chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness/arrest.
• Use Belmont rapid infuser, Giraffe warmer, Lucas device.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring active RN license (MD or Compact) and at least 3 years of ED experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state or Compact) required
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience required, 4-5 years preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI, TNCC
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Level I Trauma Center, teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills required include pediatric emergency care, IV therapy, respiratory management, cardiac monitoring, and trauma/orthopedic care
• Travel experience required, though first-time travelers with 5+ years of experience will be considered

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma Center emergency department with general adult/pediatric patient population across all age ranges
• Average daily census of 140 with 46 beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 for lower acuity patients
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, and respiratory illness/arrest
• Uses specialized equipment including Belmont rapid infuser for trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
• Epic EMR experience required
• 3x12 Day shift schedule (07:30-20:00), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty as needed
• No scheduled on-call requirement
• Provide emergency care across a broad range of conditions including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, psychiatric, and trauma cases
• Perform triage, 12-lead EKG interpretation, splinting, and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Support for multisystem organ dysfunction and critical emergency interventions
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments with no scheduling restrictions
• Facility located at least 50 miles from candidate's permanent residence to qualify for travel rate unless stated otherwise
• Former staff must have a 12-month break before returning as a traveler, and return travelers must wait at least 6 months
• Maximum RTO request of 7 days, with additional week added for requests exceeding 4 consecutive days on new contracts
• One major holiday off may be permitted during winter season
• Most locations allow one contract extension before requiring a 6-month break from that facility/unit
