Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level I Trauma Center position in Michigan. Must hold an active MI RN license and have Level I trauma experience, with ACLS/BLS/PALS/TNCC/NIHSS certifications.

Epic charting experience is required. The role features a day shift (4x12 hours: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM) with 3 weekends per 4-week schedule and possible float to Pediatrics, no on-call duties, and typical ED ratios of 1:5-6.

  • ENPC certification preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with dysrhythmias interpretation
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation preferred
  • Triage experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with Stroke, Heart, and Pediatric designations
  • Work day shift: 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule (Fri-Sun)
  • Float to other units including Pediatrics
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Maintain patient ratios typically 1:5-6 (potential to 1:8)
  • Use Epic EMR for charting
  • Treat adult/pediatric ER patients including trauma, stroke, and cardiac cases
  • Handle high-acuity cases (gunshot wounds, trauma injuries)
  • Complete onboarding modules
  • Competitively priced for local and traveler candidates
  • Returning core staff must wait 12 months to reapply
  • RTO policies apply (no RTO on 10/31 or 12/18-12/28; max 5 days)
  • First-time travelers may be considered

  • Complete pre-start training modules as part of onboarding
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
  • Returning core staff must wait 12 months before reapplying
  • RTO must be submitted at time of application, with no additional RTO approved afterward
  • No RTO permitted on 10/31 or between 12/18-12/28
  • Maximum RTO allowance is 5 days per assignment
