Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric ER RN with 2+ years of pediatric ER experience and an active OH or Compact RN license, plus prior travel nursing experience. The role requires BSN, ACLS, BLS, and PALS; CEN/NRP preferred. Prior travel nursing and Magnet facility exposure are highly valued.

The position operates in a Magnet-designated pediatric ED with patient ratios around 1:3-4. Evening 3x12 shifts, weekend coverage, and occasional floating to other units are expected.

Qualifications

• Active OH or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BSN degree required due to Magnet facility status
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ER experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• CEN and NRP certifications preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I & II experience preferred
• Experience with triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, and continuous IV sedation
• Ventilated patient care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to pediatric patients including triage, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring
• Maintain patient ratios around 1:3-4 in Pediatric ER within a Magnet-designated children's hospital
• Work evening shifts on a 3x12 hour schedule with start times such as 11a-11p, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, or 7p-7a
• Commit to every-other-weekend shifts and floating to competent units as needed
• Utilize Epic charting; assist with procedures and patient stabilization as required
• Travel assignments: candidates without current travel experience may be considered if eligible
• First-time travelers not considered for this role; locals accepted at same pay rate
• Block scheduling not permitted; provide high-quality pediatric emergency care
