Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department in Texas, requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience. Shift is 7:00 AM–7:00 PM for three 12-hour days, totaling 36 hours per week for a 13-week assignment.

Candidate must have BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Epic charting experience, plus strong skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, and dysrhythmia management. Onboarding and orientation are part of the contract process.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced ED environment.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Day shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts weekly (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• 36 hours per week
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care and management of ventilated patients
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care/management
• Proficient in administering emergency medications and IV vasopressors
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Responsible for triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response including management of dysrhythmias
• Must complete onboarding core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Orientation includes onsite completion of training modules
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be listed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
