Candidates must hold a TX or compact RN license and have ED experience; required certifications include ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS. Meditech experience preferred; strong multitasking and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience.
ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS certifications required.
Meditech experience preferred.
Trauma and inpatient holding experience preferred.
CPI certification preferred.
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months.
US SSN and DOB required for consideration.
One professional reference required.

Responsibilities

Provide ED patient care in a high-acuity trauma ED.
Support trauma and inpatient holding areas and multidisciplinary teams.
Assist with monitoring, resuscitation, and trauma procedures as needed.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with TX or compact RN licensure for a 13-week day/night rotating contract in a high-acuity trauma ED.

Details

Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds
Staffing includes charge nurse plus 11 RNs, mid-shift support, PCTs, a paramedic, and an LVN
Patient ratios of 1:4 in ED, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 in cardiac/trauma
Uses Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
EMR system is MEDITECH
Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with rotating weekends
No on-call requirements

Requirements

Active TX or compact RN license required
Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS
Meditech experience preferred
Trauma and inpatient holding experience preferred
CPI certification preferred
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

Perform splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central line care, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, Morgan lens procedures, rapid infuser use, and resuscitation
Best suited for multitaskers, team players, and self-starters
Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
Must follow all facility policies and guidelines
Active unit-based council and social committee
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius; no local candidates accepted
First-time travelers may be considered
