Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a PA or compact license and at least 2 years of ED experience for a fast-paced community hospital assignment in Honesdale, PA.

Shifts are 3x12s in either evenings or nights, totaling 36 hours per week with overtime opportunities. Certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS; TNCC and CPI training are preferred. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

  • Active PA RN license or compact license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
  • TNCC certification preferred.
  • CPI or de-escalation training preferred.
  • Strong IV insertion, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and critical assessment skills required.
  • Experience caring for pediatric and adult ED patients preferred.
  • Community hospital ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients across all acuity levels.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions per physician orders and protocols.
  • Assist with cardiac emergencies, stroke response, sepsis management, trauma stabilization, and respiratory emergencies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, radiology, laboratory, and ancillary staff.
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety initiatives.

Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a PA or compact license and at least 2 years of ED experience for a fast-paced community hospital assignment.

Details
  • Community-based acute care hospital Emergency Department
  • 18 treatment rooms including private rooms, a dedicated trauma room, Fast Track area, and negative-pressure isolation rooms
  • 24/7 emergency care provided by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff
  • Cares for patients across all acuity levels including medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, orthopedic, and trauma emergencies
  • Shifts available in evenings (3x12, 15:00-03:00) or nights (3x12, 19:00-07:00)
  • 36 hours/week schedule with opportunities for overtime
Requirements
  • Active PA RN license or compact license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • CPI or de-escalation training preferred
  • Strong IV insertion, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and critical assessment skills required
