Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a night shift position at a critical access hospital requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications and welcoming first‑time travelers.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a critical access hospital with 23 total staff beds
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating between units required
• No on‑call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Any color scrubs permitted for RN/Allied staff

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (NRP preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of ER nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in pediatrics, abdominal pain, asthma, hyperglycemia, infection, mental/behavioral health conditions, respiratory infection, and seizures
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with emergency medications and IV vasopressors
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Experience identifying and reporting neglect or abuse
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and orthopedic presentations
• May float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post‑offer requests may not be accommodated
• First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Candidates should not contact facility staff directly outside of scheduled interviews
