Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department travel assignment in New York. The position requires an active NY RN license and at least two years of ER experience, with BLS, ACLS, and PALS in place.

Responsibilities include reading cardiac strips, telemetry management, and ventilator/drip management in a high-acuity ED. Shift rotations include nights and some weekend/holiday coverage, with support staff on site.

Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license in good standing.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience.
• Must be able to read cardiac strips and manage telemetry patients.
• Experience with drips and ventilator management required.
• BSN not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a high-acuity Emergency Department with 25+ beds.
• Serve NYS Designated Stroke Center patients of all ages.
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:5.
• Rotate 12-hour night shifts (7p–7a, some 3p–3a).
• Work every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• No floating requirement; charge nurse available but not assigned to travelers.
• On-site support includes nurse aides, hospitalists, respiratory therapy.
• EPIC EMR system is used for documentation.

• Nurse to patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a, with some 3p-3a shifts
• Every other weekend and rotating holiday coverage required
• No floating requirement
• Charge nurse available but not assigned to travelers
• Nurse aides, hospitalist, and 24/7 respiratory therapy support on site
• No 24/7 pharmacy or IV team support
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Provide emergency care to patients across all age groups in a high-acuity ER setting
• Floor-specific orientation provided
• Any color scrubs permitted
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront with no exceptions
