Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment in California. The role requires 2+ years in Emergency Department, CA licensure, and multiple critical-care certifications.

Travel nursing experience and trauma-center exposure are preferred. The contract spans 15 weeks with a 7:00 PM–7:30 AM night schedule and both weekend duties. The position emphasizes high-acuity ER care, rapid response, and heavy emphasis on airway management, lines, and sedation protocols.

Qualifications

  • Active California RN license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS.
  • NIHSS, OCN, TNCC certifications preferred.
  • Previous travel nursing experience required.
  • Level I and II Trauma Center experience preferred.
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred.
  • Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, IV therapy, and phlebotomy.
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring.
  • Experience managing CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients.
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and interpretation of ABGs.
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
  • Experience with ortho-trauma, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and near-drowning cases.
  • Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE.
  • References required at time of consideration.
  • Copies of required certifications must be included for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma and non-trauma cases including cardiac, neuro, ortho, and pediatric emergencies.
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30).
  • Every other weekend required.
  • Epic EMR experience required.
  • 15-week contract with a hard start date.
  • Perform triage and manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
  • Must pass an onsite Advanced EKG exam (80% or higher) prior to starting; one attempt only, assignment cancels if failed.
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 3 RTO days for the entire contract.
  • Must be willing to work holidays.
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront and cannot be modified except to cancel time off.
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate.
  • Previous employees may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Job description
