Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Emergency Room RN for a Level II trauma community hospital in California. Candidates must have CA RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and at least two years of ER experience, with trauma and pediatric ER experience preferred.

Travel nursing experience is required. The role features a 12-hour rotating schedule, every other weekend, and a dynamic ER environment serving 45,000+ patients per year.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license (CA EMSA accepted) is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years ER experience; trauma experience preferred.
• Pediatric ER experience strongly preferred.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care in a Level II trauma center setting.
• Rotate 12-hour evening/night shifts with multiple start times.
• Support a 350+ bed hospital with 45,000+ annual ER visits.
• Float within scope of skill and patient needs.
• Use Epic EMR; experience preferred but not required.
• Interview process includes IVS interview services with hiring manager offer.

• Level II trauma center seeing 45,000+ patients annually


• 12-hour rotating evening/night shift with 3p/5p/7p start times, 36 hours per week


• Typical schedule includes every other weekend rotation


• Ratios are mandated by the state of CA and vary based on patient acuity and census


• Float required as needed within scope of skill and patient care needs


• Epic EMR used, experience preferred but not required


• Provide emergency care within a Level II trauma center setting


• Scrubs of any color permitted, with detailed dress code info provided on first day


• Interview process includes IVS interview services with hiring manager offer
