Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II trauma center position in Columbus, OH. Active OH or compact RN license required with 2+ years of ER experience and EPIC EMR proficiency. Schedule is a 3x12 shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) with alternating weekends and holidays.

Prior Level I trauma, teaching hospital, or EPIC EMR experience preferred. The assignment offers a comprehensive benefits package, housing support, travel reimbursements, and per diem options.

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required.
• Level II trauma center experience required.
• EPIC EMR charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a large Magnet-designated hospital with 1,059 beds.
• Level II trauma center and certified stroke center.
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Will float to ED Overflow unit with nurse to patient ratio flexing to 1:4.
• Travelers are first to float.
• Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced environment across general adult/pediatric ED cases.
• Must work well with staff and physicians and demonstrate full flexibility and dependability.
• Scrub color required is navy blue.
• Stellar attendance and customer service expected; more than one call-off may result in termination.
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the Columbus, OH area for travel eligibility.
• RN must have a 366-day separation from OhioHealth employment before returning as a traveler; PRN employees may not accept travel assignments while actively employed PRN.
• Maximum 10 days RTO per contract; no RTO allowed during initial weeks of assignment.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
