Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an Emergency Department RN in South Carolina for a free-standing ER. The role requires SC or compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of general emergency experience, with a focus on adult and pediatric patients.

The position uses Epic EMR, involves 3x12 hour evening shifts (1pm-1am) with every other weekend, and may include float to nearby locations. SSN is required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Patient ratios of 1:5-7.

• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements.

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a free-standing ER requiring at least 1 year of general emergency experience and SC or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of general emergency department experience (adult/pediatric) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• CVA experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• SSN required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Free-standing Emergency Department setting with possible float to nearby freestanding ER locations as needed
• Treats a combined adult and pediatric emergency population including CVA cases
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Evening shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 1pm-1am
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks based on census
• Provide emergency nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care
• Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and assist with procedural sedation
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, respiratory distress, and BiPAP/CPAP needs
• Apply triage skills and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Care for pediatric emergencies including asthma, seizures, head injury, and abuse identification/reporting
• Support psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, suicidal ideation, and managing violent behavior
• Royal blue scrub color required
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basisMust reside within 60 miles for local candidate consideration
