Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with interventional cardiac experience and Cerner proficiency for a 13-week assignment at an acute care hospital.

The role requires an active IL RN license, BLS/ACLS, and at least 1 year of interventional Cath Lab experience. Cerner charting is essential, with on-call and holiday requirements. Local candidates are welcome to apply and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license in hand at time of application.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Minimum 1 year of experience.
• Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab experience required.
• Cerner charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 5-room Cath Lab unit with an average daily census of 25.
• 3x12 Day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Will work 2-3 weekends per contract.
• On-call required as needed.
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities.
• Uses Cerner charting system.
• Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 562 staffed beds.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Scrubs provided by facility.
• Parking permit required at no cost, completed during orientation.
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays.
• Up to 5 non-holiday RTO days may be approved, with additional days requiring facility approval.
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler.
• Travel pairs are not accepted.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Local candidates are accepted for this specialty.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand at time of application

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
• Experience with Circulate Procedures, Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult), Left Heart Catheterization, Right Heart Catheterization, and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring required
• Experience with Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring required
• Skilled in Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias and Monitoring Procedural Sedation
• Cerner charting experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
