Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week Cardiology assignment in Illinois. Active IL RN license and prior Cardiovascular Lab or Critical Care experience are required, with BLS and ACLS upon hire.

The day shift runs 08:00–16:30 with call rotation every 2nd–3rd weekend and 1–3 calls per week. You\'ll care for adults undergoing cardiovascular procedures, collaborate with physicians, prepare procedure rooms, and maintain documentation; DOB and SSN are required.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
• Minimum one year of hands-on clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab or Critical Care setting required.
• DOB and SSN required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Full-time position in the Cardiac Cath Lab within the Cardiology department.
• Care for adult and geriatric patients undergoing cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Day shift schedule, 08:00-16:30.
• Call rotation required, including every 2nd-3rd weekend and 1-3 call shifts per week.
• 13-week assignment length.
• Deliver holistic, patient-centered care addressing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs before, during, and after procedures.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, providing continuous updates on patient status.
• Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, ensuring equipment is functioning and calibrated.
• Manage case-specific supplies and inventory to support efficient Cath Lab workflow.
• Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during procedures, responding quickly to changes.
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient condition throughout Cardiovascular Lab care.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers.
