Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in California. The role requires CA RN licensure, a BSN, and documented Cath Lab or IR experience, along with BLS/ACLS certifications.

Travel nursing experience within the past year is required, with strong pacu/ICU/cath lab background and epic charting proficiency. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, EP procedures, sedation, and rhythm management on a day-shift

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab or IR experience required
• Minimum 3-5 years of combined experience in PACU, ICU, CCU, and/or Cath Lab required
• Minimum 5 years of clinic nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Epic charting system experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required
• Knowledge of cardiac catheterization and EP procedures, equipment, accessories, surgical procedures, and sterile technique required
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cath Lab unit of a hospital setting
• Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and EP procedures
• Involves left and right heart catheterization and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Requires administration and monitoring of procedural sedation and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts with variable start times
• Floating to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius may be required
• Provide nursing care for diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and EP procedures
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Prior employment with any University of California medical facility or acquired facility must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• RTO is not permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• COVID vaccination and booster required, with proof needed prior to start if booster appointment is pending
