Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with interventional catheterization expertise for a cardiac catheterization unit. PA or compact RN license required; BLS/ACLS certs, 2+ years Cath Lab RN experience, and Epic charting experience are essential.

The role covers diagnostic and interventional cath lab procedures for adults, with day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, on-call weekly and weekend rotations. Hybrid OR experience and travel accommodations may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Comfort circulating procedures.
• Experience with emergency medications and IV therapy.

Responsibilities

• Support 4 Cath Labs and a 4-bay holding area in Cardiac Catheterization.
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Provide pre/post-procedure patient care in a high-acuity cardiac setting.
• Work a day shift: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM with on-call coverage ~1x/week and weekend call ~1x every 6 weeks.
• First-time travelers may be considered; local candidates within 50 miles at a different rate.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with interventional catheterization expertise for a cardiac catheterization unit, requiring a PA or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Hybrid OR experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required skills: diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, cardiac stent placement, PCI, left and right heart catheterization, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, rotational atherectomy
• Required skills: Pulmonary Artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, cardioversion, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, sheath removal/monitoring
• Must be comfortable circulating procedures
• Experience with emergency medications, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, Dobutamine, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, and reversal agents required
• Experience with blood product administration, IV infusion pumps, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Cath Lab position within Cardiac Catheterization, supporting 4 Cath Labs and a 4-bay holding area
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures with pre/post-procedure care
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Block scheduling accommodated
• On-call coverage required approximately once per week
• Weekend call required approximately once every 6 weeks
• No floating requirement indicated
• Approximately 30 hours of orientation provided
• Provide nursing care across diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Support pre- and post-procedure patient care in a high-acuity cardiac setting
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
• Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests permitted per contract
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a different rate
