Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a day-shift hospital assignment in California. Requires CA RN license, BLS, and case management experience; Cerner familiarity is essential. Travel-ready candidates with hospital, trauma, and charge experience are preferred.

The role features day hours (8:00am-4:30pm) with alternating weekends, a favorable patient ratio, and comprehensive benefits including housing and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted).
• Current BLS certification required in-hand.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of acute care setting experience required.
• Minimum 1 year full-time equivalent experience in case management specialty within the past 2 years.
• Cerner charting system experience required.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Two supervisor references required for consideration, including at least one from a supervisor, director, or manager within the last year from the relevant unit.
• Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Case Management department serving adult and geriatric patients.
• Day shift schedule, 8:00am-4:30pm, with alternating weekend coverage.
• Patient ratio of 1:25 for both weekday and weekend shifts.
• Weekend coverage required.
• No floating required.
• Uses Cerner charting system.
• Responsible for case management and utilization review duties including admission criteria assessment, discharge planning, and plan of care development.
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate.
• Candidates must have been separated from the facility for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible to return as a travelers.
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract highly preferred.
• All time off requests must be submitted with the initial application and cannot be changed once submitted.
• Facility manager may or may not conduct an interview prior to placement.
• Strong candidates may be considered even as first-time travelers.
