Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute hospital setting in California. Requires 2 years of acute hospital case management and Epic proficiency. Travel nurses welcome with appropriate approvals.

Position features day shifts 5x8 hours, every other weekend, and housing and travel reimbursements. Local candidates are considered with travel pay eligibility based on distance from facility.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute hospital setting requiring 2 years of acute hospital case management experience and Epic proficiency.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• 2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Acute hospital Case Management department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating between like units required based on need
• Uses Epic charting system
• No on-call responsibilities
• Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of CMS guidelines, DRG, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards
• Experience across specialties such as Emergency Department, ICU, Med-Surg, Pediatrics, and SDU/PCU/IMC/Obs preferred
• Local candidates accepted
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
