Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position in High Point, North Carolina. Requires at least 1 year ICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

The assignment runs 13 weeks with 36 hours per week on Nights (Nights, 3x12hrs), with EPIC EMR used and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Active NC or Compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year.
• Skilled in cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, rhythm interpretation, arterial lines, drip titration, ventilator care, vascular lines, chest tubes, and post-procedure site care.
• Experience with advanced cardiac support (Impella/IABP), CRRT, Swan-Ganz hemodynamics, and temporary pacemakers preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration.
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Work in an 8-bed Cardiovascular ICU within a community-based teaching hospital.
• Care for patients with MI, cardiac interventional procedures, post open heart, IABP/Impella support, CRRT, severe sepsis, and cardiac arrest with targeted temperature management.
• RN to patient ratio of 1:2, with 1:1 for high acuity patients and 1:3-1:4 for overflow stepdown patients.
• EPIC EMR utilized for documentation and orders.
• 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700), 36 hours per week.
• Weekend rotation every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
• Float within the critical care division or Intermediate Care.
• Schedule cycle repeats every 6 weeks.

• Provide continuous cardiac, respiratory, hemodynamic, and neurologic monitoring for high-acuity ICU patients


• Unit supported by 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist, and Intensivist coverage, plus Rapid Response Team


• Charge nurse serves as the unit's resource nurse


• Orientation includes NTO, EPIC training, online CBL modules, and a 12-hour departmental shift with an RN preceptor


• Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays


• RTO subject to Resource Team approval


• Scrub color is royal blue


• Positive, team-focused unit culture emphasizing collaborative care


• First-time travelers are welcome to apply


• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted


• Returning travelers must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position
