Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position in North Carolina. The role requires an active NC or compact RN license and ACLS certification, with BLS also required. A BSN is preferred but not required.

You will work in a 40-bed CTICU within the Center for Heart and Vascular Care, caring for complex cardiothoracic cases, with a 7:00am–7:00pm day shift, 36 hours weekly across three 12-hour shifts, and every other weekend. No on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 40-bed Cardiovascular and Thoracic ICU within a Center for Heart and Vascular Care.
• Care for patients undergoing CABG, heart valve repair/replacement, heart transplant, lung transplant, LVAD, ECMO, and complex surgeries.
• Day shift 7:00am–7:00pm.
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Deliver nursing care to patients with complex cardiothoracic and vascular conditions in ICU.
• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for discharge planning.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and unit goals.
• Holiday coverage per facility schedule.

• Patient population includes coronary artery bypass grafting, heart valve repair/replacement, heart transplant, lung transplant, LVAD, ECMO, aortic/thoracic aneurysm repairs, and complex esophageal, thoracic, and vascular surgery cases
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts per day at 12 hours each
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Deliver nursing care to patients with complex cardiothoracic and vascular conditions in a hospital ICU setting
• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support care planning and discharge planning
• Participate in performance improvement activities and unit goal achievement
• Holiday coverage required per facility holiday schedule
