Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Telemetry assignment on a 32-bed acute care unit. Requires 2+ years of medical cardiac experience with current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Night shifts 7p-7a, every other weekend; EPIC EMR and GE telemetry monitors used. Travel assignment includes housing allowance and licensure reimbursements, with competitive pay and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (State or Compact/NLC) for the state of submission, TN or compact license required.
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Experience or skills in medical cardiac care required.
• Must be competent in titrating drips including Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem.
• Experience troubleshooting High Flow oxygen and BiPAP equipment for less than 24-hour use.
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration.
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Medical Cardiac Telemetry unit with 32 beds.
• Night shift schedule (7p-7a) with every other weekend required.
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 on day shift and 1:6 on night shift.
• Charge nurse present on every shift and takes a patient assignment.
• Patient care technicians present at a ratio of about 12-15 patients per technician.
• Both self-scheduling and block scheduling options available.
• Holiday shifts assigned on a rotation basis.
• On-call required only as a last resort for travelers.
• Floating required as needed.
• Uses EPIC EMR system.
• Uses GE telemetry monitors with virtual monitoring support.
• No on-unit tele/monitor technicians, RNs responsible for reading their own ECG strips.
• Provide direct nursing care to patients with medical cardiac conditions, primarily congestive heart failure (CHF).
• Responsible for reading own ECG strips due to lack of on-unit monitor technicians.
• Unit-specific orientation lasts 3 shifts.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
