American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift in Texas. The role requires an active TX or compact RN license with cardiac telemetry background and pertinent certifications.

The assignment is 13 weeks long, with night hours from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of RN experience and be willing to train others as the unit rebuilds.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license is required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
• ACLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Cardiac telemetry nursing experience is required.
• Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start.
• US Social Security Number and US home address required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients on a 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit.
• Manage patients with chest pain and heart failure including advanced cases.
• Support echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Handle specialized cardiac procedures (Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn, TAVR).
• Float to Med/Surg as needed and cover staffing gaps.
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15 for a 13‑week assignment.

Responsibilities

• 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit
• Cares for patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, and syncope
• Supports patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic/interventional heart catheterization
• Handles specialized cardiac procedures including Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
• Unit overflows to general med/surg or non-cardiac patients as needed
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• 13-week assignment length
• First to float to Med/Surg if needed
• Deliver acute cardiac telemetry nursing care with a focus on stabilizing unit staffing
• Opportunity to precept and mentor newly hired RNs, including RN Residents, as the unit rebuilds its core staff
• Candidates should demonstrate strong engagement and willingness to train others
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location
• Only one submission permitted per candidate across all Ascension positions system-wide
• Travelers should discuss extension opportunities with their manager at least 45 days before assignment end date
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required as of July 1, 2023
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
