Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in New Jersey. NJ or compact licensure plus 2+ years of critical care experience required. BLS/ACLS certifications and scrub experience are essential.

Units operate 4x9.5-hour AM shifts with STEMI on-call and occasional float to sister hospitals. EpIC charting is used; duties include pre/post-operative assessments and patient education across all ages.

Qualifications

• Active NJ license or compact license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years critical care experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
• 4x9.5-hour AM shifts, 7am–5pm, 38 hours per week.
• STEMI on-call 10–12 shifts per month, including 1-2 weekends.
• Floating to sister hospital nearby as needed.
• Uses EPIC charting system.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments from pediatric to geriatric.
• Deliver direct patient care supporting cath lab procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and safe patient transfer techniques.
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to prioritize patient care based on condition changes.
• Local candidates accepted.

• Deliver direct patient care supporting cath lab procedures and emergency equipment use
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient assessment and education
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and safe patient transfer techniques
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to prioritize patient care based on condition changes
