Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a registered nurse for a Cardiac Catheterization Lab role in New Jersey. Requires PICC certification and 5 years PICC experience with ultrasound guidance, plus NJ or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, and critical care background.

Epic charting will be used daily. The role is a full-time, day-shift position (AM shift, 9a–5p, 37.5 hours/week) with no on-call duties and potential floating to a sister hospital.

Qualifications

• PICC certification required.

• 5 years PICC insertion experience with ultrasound guidance.
• 2 years of critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab in a hospital setting.
• Work AM shift, 9a–5p, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours/week).
• May float to a sister hospital nearby as needed.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments from pediatric to geriatric.
• Document nursing process and patient progress accurately.
• Support perioperative team and verify PAT orders for appropriateness.
• Follow NP safety goals, Universal Protocol, and HIPAA rules.

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PICC certification required
• VA-BC certification preferred but not required
• 5 years of experience inserting PICC lines utilizing 3CG
• 2 years of critical care experience required
• Expertise in ultrasound guidance for vascular access
• Proficient in troubleshooting difficult IV access
• Skilled in triaging vascular access appropriateness for site selection
• Compliance with ANTT technique and infection prevention standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting within a hospital
• AM shift, 9a-5p, Monday through Friday
• 37.5 hours per week across 5 days

• Uses Epic for charting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Provide direct patient care in support of the cardiac cath lab team
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of the nursing process and patient progress
• Support perioperative team by prioritizing patient care based on condition and needs
• Perform pre-operative and postoperative assessments and patient education
• Support timely completion of Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) and evaluate orders for appropriateness
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and use two patient identifiers
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
