Job summary

Northwell Health in Norwalk, CT is seeking a registered nurse for a 13-week contract to provide age-appropriate care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with physicians and the health team to coordinate and implement procedures and treatments, exercising clinical judgment to direct patient care on the unit.

The role requires completion of an accredited nursing program, NY/CT RN licensure, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; RN licensure required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of professional nursing experience in a hospital/acute care setting preferred.
• BLS certification required; specialized certifications as needed per unit.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s physiologic health status and chart findings.
• Assess psychosocial health and identify learning needs and support requirements.
• Identify patient outcomes and establish individualized goals.
• Formulate and carry out the plan of care; coordinate with care team.
• Administer medications safely and document treatments.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate discharge planning.
