Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a dedicated registered nurse for a 13-week contract to support inpatient care teams. You will assess patient status, implement care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families throughout hospitalization.

The role requires an active NY or CT license, BLS certification, and 1–2 years of specialty experience. The successful candidate will collaborate with physicians and the care team, ensure safety, discharge planning, and documentation accuracy,

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing, required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut, required.
• BLS required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physiologic health status and formulate plan of care.
• Assess patient’s psychosocial health status and determine coping mechanisms.
• Identify patient outcomes and establish individualized goals.
• Coordinate and document plan of care with care team.
• Implement plan of care and monitor safety, accuracy of treatments, and patient responses.
• Evaluate care provided and measure patient outcomes for quality improvement.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to adapt treatment regimens.
• Perform grade I-IV decubitus care and skin integrity procedures.
• Administer medications safely and educate patients on drug interactions.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Perform related duties as required.
