Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a day shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and LA state licensure.

The role includes work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department with 4x12 hour days, no on-call requirements, and opportunities in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU. Epic charting experience is required and travel logistics are provided.

Qualifications

• LA state license required in hand at time of consideration (license required if applicable).
• ACLS and BLS required; NRP required to work in NICU; PALS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred; teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Works in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department performing respiratory therapy and transports within the hospital.
• Day shift 4x12 hour schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Facility prefers 48 hours per week but is open to a 36/48 rotating schedule.
• Every other weekend required with 2 Fridays in a 4 week schedule.
• No call requirements.
• Epic charting system required.
• Care settings include Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU.
• Responsibilities include medication delivery, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and pulmonary hygiene.
• Experience with care of patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, ECMO, and fresh tracheostomy.
• Performs inter-departmental and ambulance patient transport.
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate.
• First‑time travelers may not be considered for this position.
• Previous permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible to travel

• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning

• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures such as bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and high risk delivery assistance
