Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night-shift position in an acute care facility across the ED/Med Surg unit. Specific requirements include BLS, ACLS, PALS, ABG endorsement, and Tennessee licensure if applicable; a minimum of 2 years' experience is expected.

Candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for a travel assignment. Equipment includes Hamilton T1, Astral 150, and Vapotherm with Meditech/Medhost documentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work in the ED/Med Surg unit of an acute care facility.
• Operate in an 11-bed unit on a night shift, 7 PM–7 AM.
• Rotate weekends; 60 miles or more from facility for travel.
• Use transport ventilators, Bipap (Hamilton T1, Astral 150) and Vapotherm.
• Document with Meditech and Medhost EHR systems.
• Collaborate with care team while applying independent clinical judgement.

Requirements

• Tennessee Board of Respiratory Care License required if applicable


• ABG endorsement required


• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required


• Minimum 2 years of experience required


• Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start, with results required before start


• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgement required


• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Work in the ED/Med Surg unit of an acute care facility


• 11-bed unit


• Night shift hours, 7 PM to 7 AM


• Rotating weekend hours, every other weekend


• Uses transport ventilators and Bipap equipment including Hamilton T1 and Astral 150, as well as Vapotherm


• Documents using Meditech and Medhost EHR systems


• Provide respiratory therapy services in a fast-paced acute care environment


• Work collaboratively with the care team while exercising independent clinical judgement


• Scrubs of any color are acceptable


• Weekly orientation sessions held on Mondays


• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for a travel assignment


• Candidates who have worked perm staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible


• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
