Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with Level II Trauma and Draeger vent experience for a night shift position at an acute care hospital.

The role involves rotating through NICU and Pediatric units, Epic charting, and potential orientation of staff. Night shifts are 3x12 hours (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with every other weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of clinical experience in acute care required.
• Minimum 1 year of Level III or IV NICU experience required.
• Level 2 Trauma experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Prior travel experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, CRT or RRT, PALS preferred, NRP preferred, CPFT preferred
• State license required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Night shift in short term acute care hospital with 426 beds and Level II Trauma Center designation.
• Part of Yale New Haven Health System with free parking.
• Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.
• Will float between two hospital campuses as needed.
• Rotate through NICU and Pediatric units based on census and staffing needs.
• Epic EMR used for charting.
• May orient students or new hires as needed.
• Candidates must be gone from facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler.
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the hospital are considered local.
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemption only.
• Experience with neonatal oscillating vents and high frequency jet vents is valued.
• NICU experience preferred but not required
