Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of pediatric ICU experience for a night shift position at a children’s hospital. The role requires handling NICU/PICU patients and working within a dedicated pediatric respiratory care team.

The ideal candidate will have BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, be able to operate in a high-acuity NICU/PICU setting, and be comfortable with Epic EMR for charting. A GA license is required if applicable.

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential required.
• Minimum 2 years of pediatrics ICU experience required.
• Pediatric ICU/PICU/NICU experience preferred.
• Experience with ventilator management is required.
• Experience with inhaled nitric oxide and heliox is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric ICU care in a 12‑hour night shift.
• Work in a pediatric respiratory care team in a critical care environment.
• Utilize Vapotherm, Optiflow, Oscillator, and IPV as needed.
• Administer continuous albuterol and other nebulized medications.
• Float to affiliated facilities as department needs.

Requirements

• PICU, NICU, and Level I trauma experience preferred
• Experience with inhaled nitric oxide, heliox, and ventilator management required

• NRP certification preferred
• Active GA license required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience

Responsibilities

• Pediatric ICU setting with PICU, NICU, and Level I trauma experience preferred
• 12-hour night shifts from 1900-0700
• Every other weekend required
• Flexible scheduling to meet department needs, including floating to affiliated facilities
• Must work at least one winter holiday as needed by the department
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Specialty equipment includes Vapotherm, Optiflow, Oscillator, and IPV
• Administers continuous albuterol, intermittent MDI, and other nebulized medications
• Work as part of a pediatric respiratory care team in a critical care environment
• Facility is nicotine-free and requires nicotine and drug screening for all candidates
• Flu vaccination required for the flu season with no medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration
