American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for NICU travel coverage across NICU, Pediatric, and Adult acute care units on the night shift in Indiana.

Requirements include RRT certification, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, IN or compact license, and at least 2 years of experience. Travel experience and two supervisor references are required, with vaccines and ACEN/CCNE education verification. Night shift duties include cross-unit float and high-acuity respiratory care tasks.

Qualifications

• RRT certification is required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
• IN license or compact license is required where applicable.
• Minimum 2 years of experience; 18 months may be considered for some specialties.
• Travel experience is required; first-time travelers accepted.
• Two supervisor references required.
• SSN and DOB are required for consideration.
• ACEN or CCNE accredited education is required.
• COVID and flu vaccines are required.

Responsibilities

• Night shift, 4x12 hours, every other weekend.
• Floating between NICU, Pediatric acute care, and Adult acute care units.
• Provide respiratory care including airway management, meds, vent management, ABGs, O2, suctioning, nebulizers, BiPAP/CPAP.
• Cerner EMR experience is preferred.
• Experience with Hamilton G5 and Philips V60 ventilators preferred.
• Bronchoscope experience preferred.
• Trauma, teaching hospital, and ER experience preferred.
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports.
• Manage ventilators including oscillating and pressure/volume types.

Responsibilities

• Night shift, 4x12 hours, every other weekend

• Unit covers General Care, NICU, Pediatrics, and Adult Intensive Care
• Respiratory care duties include airway management, medication administration, vent management, ABGs, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, and CPAP
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Experience with Hamilton G5 and Philips V60 ventilators preferred
• Bronchoscope experience preferred
• Trauma, teaching hospital, and ER experience preferred
• Holiday coverage required, must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients across multiple acute care settings
• Perform high-risk delivery assistance, intubation assist, and neonatal transports
• Manage ventilators including oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators
• Care for infants and children with respiratory distress syndrome, RSV, and transient tachypnea of the newborn
• Float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as required
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• IN residents are considered local candidates
• Local candidates accepted for Surgical Services, Allied, and IU Clinics positions at a lower pay rate; not accepted for MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, or ER positions
• Former IU perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers with 12 months of accrued IU Health travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility: 3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents
