American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position in Columbus, Ohio. The assignment is 13 weeks long, 36 hours per week, on a 12-hour night schedule.

Open to first-time travelers with 2+ years of experience; includes duties in adult ICU/ED settings and potential campus float.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory care.
• BLS certification required.
• CRT or RRT certification required (not both).
• Active Ohio State License required at time of consideration.
• Education must be from ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP/CPAP and weaning from ventilation; troubleshooting high pressure alarms.
• Airway management including extubation, suctioning and tracheostomy care.
• Medication delivery systems and nebulizer treatments; respiratory medications.
• Ability to interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs).
• 2 professional references, with at least 1 from leadership.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit within a hospital setting.
• Cover Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department work settings.
• Night shift 3x12 hours; 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; 36 hours per week.
• Weekend work required.
• Floating between campuses may be required.

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must complete Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting urgently upon accepting an offer, with lifetime background checks conducted
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
